## How a transfer works

There is no app to install and no account.
One person opens the site and chooses local network or remote network.
Local network is for two devices on the same place, cable or Wi-Fi.
Remote network gives a 4-character code. If nobody joins, that code changes after 60 seconds.
A share link for a remote room also lasts about 60 seconds.
The other person enters the code or opens the link.
A room holds two devices. A third device is refused, and the two inside are told.
The sender drops a file or a folder. The receiver chooses where to save it.
Both browsers must stay open until the transfer finishes.
The bytes go directly between the two browsers (WebRTC). They are not saved as a file on firlat.tr.
A short note can be sent after the two browsers are connected. That note also stays between the two browsers.
Remote pairing asks for a Cloudflare Turnstile check.

## What is stored

The file content is not stored.
A MAC address and a hardware id are not available to the browser, and the site does not invent them.
For abuse control, statistics, and legal duties, a transfer log may keep: IP address, country code from Cloudflare, browser type, estimated operating system, a device name the person typed, a random browser id, room code, file name, file size, and time.
Logs are deleted after 2 years.
The public statistics page shows counts and volume, not file contents.
Contact form messages are kept for the site owner and can also be emailed to info@firlat.tr.

## What it is not

It is not a file host. A link does not keep the file online after the browsers close.
It is not anonymous in the sense of "no records". Pairing and transfer logs exist.
It is not for criminal content, copyright infringement, or malware. Turkish law applies. The people who send the file are responsible for it.
The site is a tool. It is not liable for an interrupted transfer or for the other person failing to keep the file.
